One time Baninna and I were talking about culture when she asked me what my culture was and what differences could impact our relationship. In a follow up question I asked her what her culture was and she began to ponder. Well most Americans come from Europe and her lineage for those of you who know is third generation - the land of the former pope- It was an amussing question because when it comes down to it, what is American Culture? Is it marked by our politics, work ethic, way of life, foreign policy, perception of America around the world, our technology, military, Rhodes Scholars, UFO's, Hollywood, cuisine, corporate institutions, 4th of July, Labor Day, democrats and republicans, start trek, the constitution or love for democracy?
how much of this really affects our everyday 7am - 5 pm life?
My culture from the land of Gold takes various aspects already mentioned above since no country lives in isolation of the greatest power on planet earth. But there are certain things that we would like to explore in several topics to come. Stay tuned.
